The Ayawaso West constituency was one of the most talked-about parliamentary seat during the 2020 elections due to the heated competition between the incumbent MP, Lydia Alhassan and John Dumelo.

At the end of the day, NPP’s Maa Lydia emerged winner. According to provisional results, the NPP’s Lydia Alhassan garnered 39,851 votes while NDC’s Dumelo came in second with 37,778.

There after, there were accusations that she was involved in a vote buying scheme else, Dumelo would have won over her.

Reacting to this, she said that her contender Dumelo is a crying baby who complains about everything.

She made the comment in an interview with GHOne News while rubbishing claims by the National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate that she is involved in vote-buying in the constituency.

“My opponent is a crying baby who complains about everything.” Lydia Alhassan said.
